The Greater Tyre House of Rest was founded in 1988 by: Eld. Harris Bosley. Eld. Harris Bosley felt the leading of the Lord to start a ministry in the city of Tyre, MC.  After much prayer and fasting, the church was formed.

Through prayer, witnessing, fellowshipping, and outreach, the Greater Tyre House of Rest has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 1988 under the leadership of Eld. Harris Bosley.  He is helped in the ministry by his wife Yvonne Bosley. They work tirelessly with the help of the assistant pastor, Elder Alan Honaker, and the other leaders of the church.

The church joined the Greater Buelahland Fellowship in 1990.  Under the leadership of Bishop Berry Adkins, through the Greater Buelahland Fellowship; the church has flourished significantly through its programs.

The Greater Tyre House of Rest is also a member of the Sons of the Ministry.

The church has a number of ministries that help its members grow in Christ.  The church's leadership team and ministry staff members are well trained to minister to the members of Greater Tyre House of Rest.
