About Us

Westridge Church was founded in 1977 by Eld. James Folder. It began as a storefront on 3509 Cushman Road in Dorinda, Maddocha. Westridge grew steadily over the next six years. Our current pastor, Eld. Ishmail Garrison was appointed as the assistant pastor in 1980.

Elder Folder died in 1987. Eld. Garrison became the pastor shortly after Eld. Folder's death.

The church journeyed on under the leadership of Eld. Garrison. A new church building was purchased in 1988. In 1989, Westridge joined the Greater Buelahland Fellowship.

Angela Washington, the women's ministry director serves as a staff member of By Example Ministries. Our minister of music, Jordan Ransom, is a highly sought after gospel music songwriter and producer.

Westridge is moving forward in millennium ministry. Eld. Garrison has a weekly television show that he produces. It is an hourly show that portrays the stories of people who have been delivered by God. The broadcast receives numerous letters, phone calls, and email from people who have been blessed by the show.

Our youth pastor, Eld. Duce Parks hosts a two-hour radio broadcast each Thursday night from 7 PM – 9 PM which is geared towards teenagers and young adults.

Westridge gives out scholarships totaling $18,000 through the Maddocha Higher Education Society to students who are members of Westridge Church and the Greater Buelahland Fellowship.

Westridge plans to continue increasing the kingdom of God.
