About Us

Testament of Faith was founded in 1990 by Rev. Jayce Woodbine and his best friend Rev. John W.  Fowler, II. At that time, both young men were only 21. They were told that they would not be successful because of their age and because of their religious background.

Both Rev. Jayce Woodbine and Rev. John W. Fowler grew up attending a non-Pentecostal church in the city of Lystra.  They were both ordained as ministers at the same time in 1984 at the age of 15. Both young men were on fire for the Lord.  They were friends with a young Pentecostal preacher.  In 1988, the two men attended a revival that was hosted by their friend.  Rev. Woodbine and Rev. Fowler both received the Holy Ghost during the revival. When they returned to their home church, they felt out of place. The pastor did not believe in the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues.

Rev. Woodbine and Rev. Fowler both began to seek the Lord about what to do.  Rev. Woodbine discussed starting a ministry.  They did in 1989. The ministry grew rapidly. The ministry was reaching young adults ages 17 to 35.  In 1990, Rev. Woodbine decided to establish a church, the Testament of Faith, with the help of Rev. Fowler.  Both men agreed that Rev. Woodbine would be the pastor and Rev. Fowler would serve as the assistant pastor.  Testament of Faith joined the Greater Buelahland Fellowship in 1990.

Testament of Faith has grown and now has a membership of over 100 committed and faithful members.  The ministry is steadily growing.

The Testament of Faith family caters to young people.  The oldest member of the church is 45.

The Testament of Faith aphorism is, "God can use young people, too.  We ain't all doing wrong! Some of us are living saved! Praise God!"
