About Us: Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church

Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church was started by Eld. Douglas Phillips in 1994. Seeing a need for a church in the growing Pleasant Grove community of Petersburg, Eld. Phillips began praying and seeking the Lord for which path to take. After three months, Eld. Phillips was led to start a weekly Bible study on Thursday nights. The Bible study began to grow of the next few months. Within a year, the Bible study was filled to capacity and the members of the Bible study wanted more services.

Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church was dedicated on August 14, 1994.

The Thursday night Bible study is still in existence at the church. It is the largest attended service of the church, with Sunday morning being the second largest attended services.

The church continues to grow through its Bible study that includes classes for adults as well as children and youth. Many souls have been saved through this Bible study.

Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church has been a member of the Greater Buelahland Fellowship since 2001. Joining forces with the organization helped the church become a church of the future, learning how to minister to the needs of the new millennium Christian.
