About Our Pastor (Eld. Douglas Phillips): Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church

Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church has been blessed with outstanding leadership. Eld. Douglas Phillips is married to the lovely Dr. Rita Phillips. They have four beautiful girls, Amanda, Daijia, Renee, and Talliah.

Eld. Phillips education includes: an A. B. Master of Divinity from Maas Stewart University. He is active in local, state, and National GBF affairs, he is a sought after speaker and motivator. Eld. Phillips has served as President of the Petersburg Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, which he helped to form in 1990. He has also served as a member of the Petersburg Interracial Ministerial Association. He has held numerous other offices in religious organizations, which include: the Maddocha Alliance of Black Ministers, the Association of Black Churches, the Petersburg Alliance of Pentecostal Churches, and the Christian Fellowship Union of Petersburg.

With Eld. Phillips' leadership, Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church has established itself as a leader of Christian pursuits in the Community and around the state. Local and state officials constantly seek his wisdom and advice and he is still always available to address the needs and concerns of his congregation.

Eld. Phillips' teachings and compassion for his fellow man is a shining example to everyone that Jesus lives!
