Faithway Christian Center was founded in 1979 by Rev. Alfred Glenn. Rev. Glenn had been an assistant pastor at Brown Street Baptist Church for 10 years. In 1976, Rev. Glenn met Eld. J. Berry Adkins while attending Person-Manigold Theological Seminary. Eld. Adkins began to share some things with Rev. Glenn about the Holy Spirit. Although the men were not close in age, they became good friends. Rev. Glenn received the Holy Ghost in 1976. Rev. Glenn felt the leading of the Lord to begin his own ministry. He began praying. In 1979, Rev. Glenn founded Faithway Christian Church. Rev. Glenn had a meager beginning, but he was patient, for the Bible says, "Despise not small beginnings." Rev. Glenn was not part of any religious organization. When Eld. Adkins told Rev. Glenn about the Greater Buelahland Fellowship, Rev. Glenn decided to join the fellowship. Eld. Adkins appointed Rev. Glenn as the Vice-President of the fellowship. Rev. Glenn graduated from Person-Manigold Theological Seminary in 1979 with a Doctorate in Theology. Faithway began to grown. People were getting saved and joining the church. Faithway became known by its children's ministry. Dr. Glenn's wife, Sis. Donnie Glenn had a burden for children. She set-up a children's ministry at the church. It is one of the best children's ministries in the state of Maddocha. It has been recognized by the state's children's and welfare office several times. Dr. Glenn and Sis. Glenn are committed to developing well-balanced Christian men, women, boys, and girls. |
